The Donkey, the Deer, and the Lion: A Lesson in Choosing Your Battles

In life, we often encounter situations where people argue endlessly, refusing to see reason. A story from the animal kingdom beautifully illustrates why it's wise to walk away from such battles.
Once upon a time, in a dense jungle, a donkey and a deer were having a heated argument.
The donkey insisted, “The grass is red!”The deer calmly replied, “No, the grass is green.”
But the donkey was relentless. He kept shouting that the grass was red, while the deer patiently maintained that it was green. After a long argument, they decided to seek the judgment of the jungle’s king—the mighty lion.
When they reached the lion, the donkey immediately shouted, full of excitement:“Your Majesty! Please tell this deer that the grass is red. He keeps saying it’s green, but I know I am right!”
The lion looked at the donkey and said:“Yes, the grass is red. You are correct.”
The donkey jumped with joy, thanked the lion, and happily went on his way.
After the donkey left, the deer, still puzzled, asked the lion:“But King, the grass is clearly green! Why did you say it was red?”
The lion calmly replied:“I know the grass is green, my dear friend. But arguing with a donkey is a waste of your time and energy. Some creatures are so closed-minded that no amount of reasoning can change their view. Instead of wasting precious energy trying to convince them, it’s better to move on and focus on your work.”
The Moral of the Story
In our daily lives, we often meet people who are stubborn or unwilling to understand the truth. No matter how logically you explain, they will hold on to their wrong beliefs. Trying to convince them is like running in circles—it only exhausts you.
